Tornado Siren and
Outdoor Alert Warning System

Monthly Alarm Testing

The Tornado Siren and Outdoor Alert Warning test occurs the second Monday of each month at 1:15 P.M. The siren is a continuous blast. The test will last approximately up to 5 minutes.

In case of inclement weather on the second Monday, the test will occur on the third Monday. Incase of inclement weather on the third Monday, we will test the following month.

Outdoor Weather Warning Alerts

The outdoor alert warning system will sound in Osceola, when there is eminent danger to the citizens of Osceola. The siren will sound for 3-5 minutes on a continuous blast. The Siren will not only sound for the direct threat of a tornado, but may also sound for large hail and damaging wind. There is no clear siren.

It is encouraged that the public keep themselves current on active weather in the area. Remember, the sirens are called outdoor alert warning system. This warns the public who are outside of their homes that an event is happening, or is about to happen. We strongly recommend that citizens listen to the local radio and T.V. stations.
